Our History.

The documented origin and global expansion of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries.

1989 · Lagos, Nigeria

From a living room.

After completing his Ph.D. in the United Kingdom and while working at the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research, Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya summoned a prayer meeting on a Wednesday in 1989. Twenty-four brethren attended this first gathering, held in the living room of Dr. Olukoya.

Subsequent meetings followed, during which the power of God manifested with verifiable miracles. The prayer meetings grew rapidly, attracting believers from far and wide.

Headquarters & Expansion

To the nations.

The prayer group acquired an abandoned slum at 13 Olasimbo Street, Onike, Yaba — a fairly large piece of land near the second gate of the University of Lagos. This site was transformed into the International Headquarters of MFM. The church held its first official service on April 24, 1994.

MFM developed a strategy of branching into every state capital, local government headquarters, senatorial district, and locality. International expansion began in London before spreading to the United States, Canada, the rest of Europe, the Caribbean, Africa, and Asia.

Global Impact

On six continents. In every state.

What began with twenty-four brethren now spans the globe — branches, prayer cities, and gospel outposts in nearly every nation.
